Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. Her name was associated with her as the co-star in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain, and the singer for the girl band Apollonia 6 Apollonia was given the title of an actress and female singer by Prince. In the '80s Apollonia was one of numerous artists who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. The latter part of the 70s was when she appeared on CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first role from the year 1984. Prince changed the girl's name in this period. She was replaced by Vanity by the female group Vanity 6 for her role in the film with Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter, a minor-hit song in the film's soundtrack, was her most chart-topping hit. Kotero and Prince were at odds regarding her career. The Apollonia6 duo split up, Kotero did not continue her relationship with Prince. The actress appeared in several smaller films, like the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon (which she did not want to be in) after which she was offered the part of Falcon Crest on the Night-Time Drama Falcon Crest from 1985-1986. Apollonia had the opportunity to make her debut album available in the year 1988. Unfortunately, it failed to leave a lasting impression on fans of music and she soon faded off the spotlight. The singer was still active, though not under the spotlight, acting in the decade, albeit with minor appearances in films and on television. A workout DVD came out.
