Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American stage actress and producer, is well-known for her role in the feature film Ray Undercover Brother as well as in The Mentalist. She has a Bachelor's degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue is an American actress, producer and director who has worked in both film and television. Her career in acting began at the theater. Later, she was a part of numerous television shows in independent films, mainstream and film. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she received critical acclaim and various awards and nominations, among them the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. Her career began as an actress in 1995 as Ariel in The Tempest. Her stage credits are Come and Gone Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. In her film career, she is renowned for her performances in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. For her work on television she's received praise for her part as the regular character in ABC's police drama High Incident.
